Gorgeous merino wool, warming possum fur and fine silk are materials with the finest properties. Breathability, moisture transfer and softness are combined in this exceptionally durable and warm knit.
The majority of the knit is merino wool. Merino is a beloved material due to its practicality and pleasant properties. Highly breathable and moisture-wicking merino wool keeps the skin dry and warm.
The possum fur is hollow on the inside, which makes the fur both very warm and breathable, but also exceptionally light. The product is up to 30% lighter in weight than a similar wool knit. The use of possum fur in the knit is a by-product of the capture of this harmful invasive species, which means it meets our requirements for ethically sourced material. New Zealand's approximately 60 million possum furs threaten the biodiversity of the original environment, as they do not have enough natural enemies.
The valuable and fine silk completes the combination developed to its highest level, bringing durability, smoothness and breathability to the knit.
The knit does not pill even after years of use, as the fibers of the ingenious mixture are so durable that they do not easily break and cause lint.
Care instructions
For maintenance, it is recommended to air the knit regularly and brush away dirt and dust with a clothes brush. If done regularly, this procedure is often sufficient, and the product does not necessarily need to be washed. To remove stains, use our gentle soap intended for gloves or, for example, Marseille soap. If necessary, the product can be washed in cool water with a gentle wool detergent and program. Dry flat on a towel.

Käsineiden valmistus käsityönä on luonnostaan hyvin taloudellista ja siten ekologista materiaalien käytön osalta. Leikkausvaiheessa leikkuri optimoi nahan kulutuksen siten, että leikkuujätettä syntyy minimaalisen vähän. Tähän tarkoitukseen käsineet ovat erinomainen tuote, sillä niissä on paljon pieniä osia (sormenvälit, peukalot, ranteen kanttaus), joihin voidaan käyttää hyvinkin pienet nahanpalaset. Hienolaatuisen aniliininahan luonnollinen tuntuma säilyy rumpuvärjäyksen ansiosta, eli nahan päälle ei ruiskuteta halpatuotannolle tyypillisiä kemikaaleja. Materiaalien valmistuksessa käytetyt vedet puhdistetaan jo tehtaalla. Ekologisten seikkojen huomioiminen on meille tärkeää tuotannon ja toiminnan joka vaiheessa. Esimerkiksi tuotelaput valmistetaan FSC-setrifioidusta kartongista käsinetehtaamme naapuritehtaassa, jolloin myös kuljetuksen hiilijalanjälki on minimaalinen.
Käsineemme valmistetaan käsityönä Unkarissa kauniissa Pecs-nimisessä kaupungissa, joka on maailman laatukäsineiden valmistuksen osaamisen keskus. Käsineiden valmistus on erittäin arvostettu käsityöala, ja alansa parhaiden käsinevalmistajien työolot ovat kunnossa ja EU-lakien mukaiset. Käytämme ainoastaan nahkaa, joka saadaan ruokatuotannon sivutuotteena (kuten lammas) ja/tai kannanhallinnan seurauksena (kuten hirvi). Tarhattujen eläinten turkiksia emme käytä. Meille prioriteettina on valmistaa laadukkaita ja pitkäikäisiä asusteita. Seuraamme kuitenkin tarkasti myös vegaanisten materiaalien kenttää, ja tulevaisuudessa saattaakin olla mahdollista valmistaa vegaanisia käsineitä. Materiaalit hankitaan luotettavilta yhteistyökumppaneilta, jolloin tuotantoketjun vaiheet ovat tiedossa.
Kestävistä materiaaleista ja huolellisella käsityöllä valmistetut käsineet kestävät käytössä pitkään. Kannustamme tuotteidemme mahdollisimman pitkäaikaiseen käyttöön, ja opastammekin käsineiden huollossa ja korjauksessa. Esimerkiksi käsineiden luonnonkuituiset vuorit on mahdollista vaihtaa, mikä lisää käsineiden käyttöikää entisestään. Vuorinvaihto- ja käsineiden korjauspalvelu toimivat myymälämme kautta. Kestävyyteen liittyy lisäksi tyylin ja muotoilun kestävyys. Klassisena asusteena käsineet eivät ole kiinni sesongeittain vaihtuvissa trendeissä, vaan käsineet palvelevat käyttäjänsä pukeutumista koko niiden elinkaaren ajan.
