    • Women's wilderness gloves handcrafted from Finnish elk leather have been designed in collaboration with outdoor influencer, Anton Kallandin, and the respected Finnish outdoor and wilderness clothing brand, Sasta.

      • Women's wilderness gloves
      • Finnish elk leather
      • Unlined gloves suitable for year-round use. In the coldest seasons, knitted gloves can be worn underneath.
      • Ventile® ECO Organic fabric at the wrist, which is a very tightly woven 100% organic cotton fabric.
      • Handmade in Hungary
      • Reinforcements on thumbs and palms increase durability in areas subject to the most mechanical wear.
      • Thanks to metal rings, the gloves can be securely hung on a hook or carabiner.
      • Note. Belt loop sold separately.

Thick, durable, and soft elk leather provides good grip and durability, for example, when splitting wood. High-quality full-grain leather develops a beautiful patina over time. The elk leather used in these gloves is thicker than usual and therefore more durable. The leather is treated to be oilier than usual, making it water-repellent with excellent grip and a firm feel.

Finnish elk leather is an ecological and ethical material, perfectly suited for gloves. Due to the scarcity of natural predators, regulating the elk population through hunting is necessary to maintain a healthy population, for traffic safety and agriculture and forestry reasons, so the leather is obtained as a by-product.

The wrist features Ventile® ECO Organic fabric, which is a very tightly woven 100% organic cotton fabric. The fabric is weather-resistant, repels water, and protects against wind. Organic cotton cultivation uses up to 91% less water than non-organic cotton cultivation. Organic standards also cover pesticide use and dyes, ensuring safe working conditions for workers. Ventile ECO-Organic is made in Switzerland and certified with Öko-tex 100 Global Organic Textile Standard.

The production of quality gloves is entirely handcrafted, with machines only playing a supporting role. The leather is processed using a centuries-old table cutting method. The cutter aims to utilize the leather as precisely as possible to avoid wasting valuable material, while also considering the natural stretch of each individual hide to ensure the gloves fit the hand as well as possible. The table cutting method requires care and manual strength and is very slow – the cutting speed averages only three pairs per hour.

Size selection: Outdoor gloves can have a fit that is more relaxed than the familiar Sauso fit. We do not recommend rounding down to a smaller size. Therefore, three sizes are available. You can choose your own Sauso glove size for a snug fit. Alternatively, you can choose a larger size, allowing you to wear knitted gloves inside during the coldest seasons. We recommend our selection of Onni knitted gloves, made from very durable and warm merino-opossum knit.

Domestic family company Sasta has equipped people from the wilderness of North Karelia to Antarctica with over half a century of experience. Founded in 1969 in Nurmes, Sasta's story began from a simple need to survive harsh natural conditions. The soul of Sasta is still deeply rooted in the Finnish wilderness, and its traditions reflect the values of Finnish outdoorsmen and genuine care for nature's well-being. "According to Sasta's traditions, we do not shave grams but make durable and technical clothing for situations where equipment must be trusted one hundred percent. To ensure our promise, the functionality of our products is tested in the world's best laboratory, the real wilderness, under real conditions."
