Durable outdoor leather gloves are handcrafted from Finnish elk leather.

    • Handmade from Finnish moose leather, these men's wilderness gloves are designed in collaboration with outdoor influencer, Anton Kalland, and the prestigious Finnish outdoor and wilderness clothing brand, Sasta.

      • Men's wilderness gloves
      • Finnish moose leather
      • The unlined gloves are functional all year round. In colder seasons, you can wear knitted mittens under the gloves.
      • The wrist is made of Ventile® ECO Organic textile, which is a very densely woven 100% organic cotton fabric.
      • Handmade in Hungary
      • Reinforcements on the thumbs and palms increase durability in areas subject to the greatest mechanical wear.
      • The metal rings make it easy to attach the gloves to a hook or carabiner.
      • Note. Belt loop is sold separately.

Thick, durable and soft elk leather provides good grip and durability for splitting trees, among other things. The high-quality full aniline leather patinas beautifully over time. The elk leather used in these gloves is thicker than usual and therefore more durable. The leather has been treated to be more oily than usual, which makes it water-repellent and has excellent grip and a firm feel.

Finnish elk leather is an ecological and ethical material that is perfect for gloves. Due to the lack of natural enemies, controlling the elk population by hunting is necessary to keep the population vibrant, for traffic safety and for agriculture and forestry, so the leather is obtained as a by-product.

The wrist is made of Ventile® ECO Organic textile, which is a very densely woven 100% organic cotton fabric. The fabric is weather-resistant, water-repellent and wind-resistant. Up to 91% less water is used in growing organic cotton than in growing non-organic cotton. Organicity also applies to the use of pesticides and substances used in dyeing, and means safe working conditions for workers. Ventile ECO-Organic is manufactured in Switzerland and is certified with the Öko-tex 100 Global Organic Textile Standard.

The production of quality gloves is handcrafted from start to finish, with machines only playing an auxiliary role. The leather is processed using the centuries-old table cutting method. The cutter's goal is to utilize the leathers as accurately as possible so that valuable material is not wasted, while at the same time taking into account the natural elasticity of each individual leather so that the gloves fit the hand as well as possible. The table cutting method requires care and also manual strength, and it is very slow - the cutting speed is only three pairs per hour on average.

Size selection: Outdoor gloves must have a looser fit than the familiar Sauso fit. We do not recommend rounding down to a smaller size. Therefore, there are three sizes to choose from. You can either choose your own Sauso glove size, which will give you a snug fit. Alternatively, you can choose a larger size, so you can wear mittens inside your gloves during the colder seasons. We recommend our selection of Onni mittens, which are made of extremely durable and warm merino possum knitwear.

The Finnish family company Sasta has equipped people from the wilderness of North Karelia to Antarctica with over half a century of experience. Born in Nurmes in 1969, the story of Sasta began with a simple need to survive in harsh natural conditions. Sasta's soul is still deep in the Finnish wilderness and its traditions reflect Finnish wilderness values and a genuine concern for the well-being of nature. "In keeping with Sasta's tradition, we don't skimp on the gram, but rather make durable and technical clothing for situations where you need to be able to rely on your equipment 100 percent. To ensure our promise, the functionality of our products is tested in the world's best laboratory, in the real wilderness, under the mercy of real conditions."
