"A winter glove made of reindeer suede is warm, super soft, withstands variable weather, and of course beautiful! This is the true favorite of the Sauson team."
Charming warm gloves made from Finnish poromokka.
Reindeer suede as a material is stylish and pleasant. Soft, thin, and very durable reindeer leather is made for gloves. The very luxurious-feeling leather feels like a second skin. It withstands weather conditions well because the leather naturally repels dirt and moisture. Exotic worldwide but locally produced for us, reindeer leather is one of the most valued glove leathers. Reindeer leather is ethical and ecological. Caring for free-ranging reindeer is essential for the vitality of northern villages. As a material, reindeer suede is warmer than, for example, lamb nappa.
The cashmere knit lining brings much-needed warmth to the glove in cold seasons. The luxurious knit is fine quality, warm, and very soft. The breathable natural material feels pleasant on the skin thanks to its softness. Cashmere naturally has good thermal insulation, so it adds extra warmth to the glove. The blend of wool and cashmere makes the knit slightly more durable than cashmere alone.
The glove has a simple style with refined decorative stitches on the back of the hand. The gloves are sewn with a step seam, which makes the glove beautifully slender on the hand. The cuff is about 5 cm long, covering the wrist well and protecting against the wind.
The gloves have been handmade from the start and have gone through about 100 crafting stages. One of the most important steps is stretching and cutting the glove using the traditional table cutting method. This ensures a perfect fit by manually stretching out the excess elasticity from the leather while leaving room to mold to the user's hand. The leathers are also cut precisely to avoid wasting material.
Glove care is easy. Since leather is naturally oily, it does not need to be treated with leather care products. Avoid getting the leather wet. Gently stretch the gloves lengthwise after each use. Store the gloves straightened in a breathable space so that moisture accumulated during use can evaporate. Suede leather can be refreshed by lightly brushing it with a soft clothes brush.
The linings in gloves often wear out faster than the leather, so we offer our customers a lining replacement service that allows the linings to be changed in gloves already shaped to their own hands.
