These classic women's driving gloves are made from full-grain leather from Ethiopian hair sheep, which is beautifully shiny and soft. The fine and supple leather moulds well to the shape of the wearer’s hands.
Knuckle holes are a key part of the design of classic driving gloves. As the gloves are unlined, they're very lightweight to wear. The thin leather is soft and breathable, and they allow you to get a good grip of your steering wheel. In addition, the leather has small decorative perforations, which add to the breathability of the gloves.
The gloves are sewn with a hand-stitched counter seam, i.e. the seam is visible on the outside of the gloves. This makes the gloves particularly pleasant to wear, as your skin is only in contact with smooth and soft leather - no disturbing seams.
The back of the hand is fitted with a leather-covered push button, which closes the hole of the cuff.
The gloves are made to fit perfectly using the centuries-old table cutting method. Each hide is hand-cut individually. Excess flexibility is stretched out from the leather by hand, leaving just the right amount of elasticity to ensure the gloves will fit perfectly. This ensures that the gloves retain their fit and won’t stretch even after long-term use. Hides are used thoroughly to minimise wasted material.
The gloves are supposed to fit snugly at first, and mould to the shape of the wearer’s hands over time.
This design is a staff favourite! Every staff member at Sauso has at least one pair of these gloves.
To find the right size, measure your larger hand (usually your writing hand) at its widest point without a thumb. The circumference of the hand is measured very firmly around the hand. Tip: If you do not have a tape measure, you can use a string. Measure the circumference of the hand with the string and then measure the length of the string with a ruler. This measurement result allows you to select the correct size from the selected size chart. (The size chart can be found on each product page.) If the measurement is between two sizes, we recommend rounding to the nearest half or full size. When rounding to the nearest size, consider the length of your fingers. If you have long fingers or keep your nails long, choose a larger size. If the model of your hand is more wide than the long model, choose a smaller size - this way the fingers are not too long. The glove should sit firmly at the beginning, as the leather stretches slightly in use and shapes in your hand over time.
