Since 1929 The history of manufacturing Sauso gloves is strongly linked to the history of the Sauso family. Svante Sauso, the great grandfather of Sakari Sauso, got his glove manufacturing skills from the greatest German glove manufacturers and established factory to Järvenpää, Finland in 1929. After Svante his son Arno took over the management of the company and from him the company was passed on to the third generation of Sauso that is represented by Sakari Sauso.

  •  Nappa leather from Ethiopian hair sheep
  •  Knitted lining from 100% cashmere
  •  Sheepskin border
  •  Zipper slit on the side of the gloves
  • Leather and fur are by-products from food industry.

These handmade gloves are soft and comfortable to wear. The beautiful, shiny full-grain nappa leather moulds perfectly to the hand of the wearer over time. Adorned with beautiful, eye-catching details that can elevate any outfit.

The side of the gloves are fitted with a zipper, making putting on the gloves easier while providing a captivating, decorative detail. The hem of the cuff has a lambskin border, which acts as an attractive decoration and seals the wrist from the wind and cold.

The gloves are made of Ethiopian nappa leather, which is beautifully shiny and soft. The thin and supple nappa leather moulds perfectly to the hands of the wearer.

The natural fibres of the lining increase the warmth of the glove. The knitted lining is perfect for use from autumn to spring. The cashmere knit, made in Italy, is soft and warm. The thermal insulation and breathability of the natural fibre and the luxurious softness of cashmere, make the lining incredibly high-quality and comfortable.

The gloves get their perfect fit from the centuries-old table cutting method. In this method, excess flexibility is stretched out of the leather by hand, leaving only an optimal amount of elasticity to ensure an excellent fit. This also ensures that the gloves retain their snug fit and don’t stretch even after long-time wear. The leather is used as thoroughly as possible to minimise wasted material. The gloves are handmade with a sewing machine. The step seam used in gloves is a very challenging seam type that only the best seamstresses know.

The gloves are easy to care for. As the leather naturally contains some oils, it doesn’t need to be treated with leather care products. Avoid getting the leather wet. Always stretch the gloves lengthwise after each use. Store in a breathable area to allow any moisture accumulated during use to evaporate. Do not store crumpled or folded. The lining wears faster than the leather, so we have a lining change service, which allows you to change the lining of your old gloves that have already moulded to the shape of your hands.

How do I choose the right size gloves?

To find the right size, measure your larger hand (usually your writing hand) at its widest point without a thumb. The circumference of the hand is measured very firmly around the hand. Tip: If you do not have a tape measure, you can use a string. Measure the circumference of the hand with the string and then measure the length of the string with a ruler. This measurement result allows you to select the correct size from the selected size chart. (The size chart can be found on each product page.) If the measurement is between two sizes, we recommend rounding to the nearest half or full size. When rounding to the nearest size, consider the length of your fingers. If you have long fingers or keep your nails long, choose a larger size. If the model of your hand is more wide than the long model, choose a smaller size - this way the fingers are not too long. The glove should sit firmly at the beginning, as the leather stretches slightly in use and shapes in your hand over time.
